1. Data Handled in This Version
Pulsely keeps limited non-health operational information locally on your device when needed for app functionality:
- The app-generated anonymous device ID used to connect the app to its Pulsely backend device profile.
- Reminder scheduling state and app preferences.
- Entitlement, subscription, backend configuration, and UI preference snapshots needed for app operation.
The current version uses a Pulsely backend as the persistent source of truth for accepted health record summaries under an anonymous device profile. Backend requests may include an app-generated device ID, app metadata needed for bootstrap, completed pulse measurement summaries including client-calculated Energy and Stress wellness scores and their algorithm version, user-entered manual record summaries, reminder settings, StoreKit transaction and entitlement data, and backend monetization configuration responses.
The app may hold transient in-memory measurement or form state while you complete a flow, but it does not keep a local persistent health-record store for completed camera measurements or manual health records.
Pulsely does not create accounts, provide user-login cloud sync, sell user profiles, or integrate with Apple Health or HealthKit.
2. Camera and Notifications
Camera access is used only while you start a pulse session. Pulsely reads fingertip color changes from the camera signal on device. It does not save photos or videos, and it does not send camera frames, photos, videos, or raw PPG sample streams to a server.
Notifications are optional and are used only for reminders if you enable them. You can manage camera and notification permissions in system settings.
3. Subscriptions, Ads, and Backend Configuration
Pulsely Plus subscriptions are purchased through Apple StoreKit. Apple handles billing and payment information. Pulsely and the Pulsely backend use StoreKit transaction and entitlement data to unlock Plus access and restore purchases; we do not receive your payment card details.
Pulsely uses Google Mobile Ads SDK for eligible free users when backend configuration enables an ad placement. Plus access suppresses ads, and a backend global ad shutoff disables every ad placement.
Pulsely does not send pulse BPM values, raw camera data, manual record values, measurement scenarios, or wellness history to the ad SDK for ad targeting. The ad SDK may process identifiers, approximate location, device information, network information, diagnostics, product or ad interaction data, and ad delivery data according to Google and Apple platform requirements.
Pulsely uses AppsFlyer SDK for app install, launch, attribution measurement, and limited coarse conversion events when configured. Pulsely does not send pulse BPM values, raw camera data, manual record values, measurement scenarios, wellness history, backend record IDs, or StoreKit transaction payloads to AppsFlyer.
4. Feedback Email
The feedback option opens your mail app. If you choose to send us an email, the email address, subject, message body, and any information you include are processed by your mail provider and by us only to respond to your request.
5. How We Use Data
We use app data to provide pulse session trends, record review, user-entered records, reminders, app settings, device-scoped entitlements, StoreKit purchase handling, backend record storage and review, and backend-controlled monetization configuration. We do not use health record data, pulse results, manual health values, or raw camera data for personalized advertising, tracking, user profile sales, or unrelated commercial purposes.
6. Storage and Deletion
Accepted pulse measurement summaries and user-entered manual record summaries are associated with your anonymous Pulsely device profile on the Pulsely backend. Local app data is limited to non-health operational state such as device identity, reminders, entitlement/configuration snapshots, UI preferences, and transient in-memory flow state. Deleting the app removes local app data from the device, subject to the operating system's backup and restore behavior. Backend records associated with the anonymous device profile may remain unless deletion is requested.
You can contact us at [email protected] to request help with backend data deletion. Revoking a permission may make related features unavailable while other features remain usable.
7. Children and Minors
Pulsely is intended for users who can independently understand and manage their own wellness records. If you are a minor, use this app with the consent and guidance of a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Wellness Disclaimer
Pulsely is designed to help you keep pulse and wellness records for personal reference.
Pulsely is for personal wellness journaling only, not a medical device. Always seek a doctor's advice in addition to using this app and before making any medical decisions.
Completed camera measurements may display BPM, signal quality, scenario context, and client-calculated Energy and Stress wellness scores. Energy and Stress are product-level wellness journal indicators derived on device from BPM and scenario context; they are not HRV, psychological stress, clinical energy, diagnosis, treatment guidance, or medical measurements. Pulsely does not calculate or display a total wellness score.
Camera-based pulse estimates may be influenced by device hardware, camera quality, lighting, finger placement, skin conditions, movement, and signal quality.
Manual record sections are for user-entered notes only. Pulsely does not measure blood oxygen, blood pressure, blood glucose, or blood lipid values with the phone camera or other phone sensors.
If you have chest pain, shortness of breath, fainting, persistent dizziness, persistent palpitations, or any emergency symptoms, call emergency services or see a doctor immediately.
Please do not use this app as the basis for care decisions.
9. Policy Updates
We may update this Privacy Policy when the product changes or when platform or legal requirements change. Material changes will be reflected in the app or release notes.
